Note 2According to his son Matthew in ca. 1890, recorded by Matthew’s grandson Pantias (John) Calvocoressi some 60 years later, Zannis was killed by the Turks in 1822 on Chios, Matthew being virtually an eye-witness.
Note 3David Calvocoressi says that Zannis’ grandson Nicolas signed a document dated Constantinople 27 Sep 1900 stating that “Zannis Calvocoressi was killed by the Turks leaving children: Nicolas, Pandely, Dimitri, Mavroudi, Matthew, George and Zambelou”.
Note 4David Calvocoressi says that either Pantias (John) Calvocoressi or Nicolas (Zannis) Calvocoressi - unclear which - believed the children of Zannis (Zorzis) Calvocoressi’s second wife were Mavroudi, Matthew, George and Zambelou.
