Note 2He appears to have had a cousin Jacob Winkler born c.1808 (m. 1830 Anna Baczko) son of Johannes Winkler & Magdalena Matuszewska.
Note 3Participated in creation of present-day Romania, involved in 1848 Iasi/Jassy revolution. Did his father-in-law influence him to arm Polish refugees in Moldavia and Wallachia fighting Russians occupying Poland (guns supplied by Constantinople).

Note 1Her daughter Nathalie’s death certificate establishes her as Maria Dwernika. Philip Argenti says that Nathalie was the ‘petite fille’ of General Count Josef de Dwerniki.
Note 2Her father’s name appears on his grand-daughter Hermina’s birth certificate.
Note 3Maria appears to have been alive at the time of her husband’s death (her death is not recorded on his certificate).
Note 4On her daughter Hermina’s birth certificate she is referred to as “Domina Maria Dwernika”. Maria and her husband were Roman Catholics.
