Note 1According to Argenti, a Michel Dromocaitis was married to an Angelique Schilizzi and had a son Nicolas, but the evidence suggests that she was Eulalia and Argenti was mistaken.

Note 2We now know (2023) that their ‘son’ Nicolas was NOT their son but he remains attached to this family until we know where to place him!

Note 3Arrived in Marseille in 1824 and took French nationality in 1843. In 1842 “all his children were born in Marseille”. One of the founders of the Orthodox church in Marseille.

Note 1(Araba) Argenti calls her variously Smaragda and Eulalie. Since she already has a sister called Smaragda this is presumably the Eulalia who married Michael Dromocaïtis.

Note 2In 1856 she was a widow householder in 8 Allée des Capucines, Marseille, living with 5 unmarried children and a married daughter Fanny (Théophanie?) with Fanny’s son Emmanuel and a Michel Schilizzi aged 37.

Note 3Her birth date suggests that she may not have been born into this Schilizzi family...
