Note 1Lived and traded in Vienna 1817-25. Took over his father’s business in 1822, returned to Constantinople and took the name De Cosi. From 1832 onwards he settled in Athens and founded a bank, becoming one of the most prominent finaciers of his time.
Note 2He built the beautiful house, designed by the German architects Lyden & Hoffer, which is now the Museum of Athens.
