Note 1(Vlachou) An Emmanuel Rodocanachi with brother Stephanos/Etienne settled in Marseilles after the massacres on Chios. A Pandia Rodocanachi stayed in Livorno (see: 'Grecs et Philhellenes A Marseille' by Pierre Echinard (Institue Historique de Provence).
Note 2Catsiyannis says he fled Chios for Italy and France, settling finally in Marseilles. He appears to have traded with his brother Pandia in Livorno. He has a handsome tomb at the Saint-Pierre cemtery in Marseilles.
Note 3According to the death notice of his grandson Emmanuel Michel Rodocanachi, this Emmanuel Rodocanachi founded the bank ‘Rodocanachi Sons & Co’. A company of this name, founded in 1830, is recorded as failing in Nov 1929.
