Note 1The ‘black sheep’ and ‘gambler’ referred to in the 1921 Kessisoglu libel trial. He was maintained by a £320 p.a. allowance by four nephews and nieces. On his death the sum was continued at a rate of £120 p.a. But Emily sought to have the full amount continued by blackmailing and libelling his relatives.
