Note 1He and his brother died of influenza within weeks of each other. He and his siblings appear to have suffered from physical and mental problems perhaps resulting from inbreeding.
Note 2The 1881 England Census reports that Peter Scaramanga, 29, and Strati Scaramanga, 26, both unmarried, lived at 22 Hyde Park Gardens, Paddington, London, in a group facility for 'imbeciles’.
Note 3Eustratius Scramanga died at West Hill, Shankln on 9th May 1890 aged 35. Said to be of Independent Means. Subacute Rheumatism for 21 days. Collapse Sudden. Death certified by George H R Dabbs MD Mother, Julia was present at the death.
