Note 1Sent to Chios for his education and became a teacher himself where he was joined in 1817 by his younger brother George whom he taught until the 30 Mar 1822 and the Massacres of Chios began. Fled Chios on a small boat to Psara.
Note 2In 1822 joined Gen. Staïcos Staïcopoulos corps of volunteers and took part in its attack on the fort at Palmède, near Nauplie, on the night of 29/30 Nov 1822, he and his brother being first into the fort.
Note 3Took part in the battle which took the fort at Kissamo, Crete. Killed in action while fighting with Tombazis, high commissioner on Crete, at the battle on the hill of Amourgeles, Crete.
