Note 1Fled Crete for Romania during the Greek War of Independence. Owned vast estates at Leova in Bessarabie. Consul of the Low Countries. On the death of a Ioannis C. Vlasto in 1869 he provided refuge for his widow and children.
Note 1He was a very generous benefactor of Crete and Cretans. He gave a large chandelier engraved with his name to Rethymno cathedral in 1844.
