Note 1Or Sarantis. This genealogy used to presume that Sarandy was the son of Petros & Mimina but this cannot be true given her age. It seems more likely that this branch of the Scaramanga family descends from Petros (Petros) Scaramanga born ca. 1682.
Note 2He left estate of only £237 16s 3d. His probate notice describes a brother as John Peter Scaramanga.
Note 3Problems re Sarandy as son of Petros include: 1) His name is outside the family lexicon; 2) He and his descendants appear not to be recognised as ‘family’ by other Scaramangas of this branch; 3) The family is not linked to St Sophia church in London.
Note 4Until further information emerges, this ‘Sarandy’ branch is treated as an independent branch, very likely descended from Petros (Petros) Scaramanga born ca 1682.
