Note 1In 2017 Wendy Ruello (née Carroll) believed he may have fathered an illegitimate son, John Rodocanachi Houlding (birth registered in West Derby in 1858), son of Frances Susannah Houlding who married a John Curry and settled in Australia.
Note 2His Will of 1 Jul 1899 left £28,044 11s 1d. To his wife Fanny £300, his household effects and life income from his residuary estate (in trust for all of his children). He left £8,000 to his daughter Alexandra and various sums to other children...
