Note 1(Chaviara-Axeskoufotos) Chosen, aged 22, to succeed his uncle Pandia ‘Zeus’ (Stephanos) Ralli at the helm of Ralli Brothers. He was the founder with John (Eustratio) Ralli of the new firm of Ralli Brothers established in 1866.
Note 2One of the very rare Victorian millionaires, he left estate valued at £1,068,524. His portrait was painted by Walter William Ouless in 1881. A founding member of the Baltic Exchange.

Note 4Devastated by the death, at Eton, of his eldest son Augustus, aged only 15, he built the huge St Stephen’s Chapel at West Norwood Cemetery which was massively restored in 2023, almost 150 years later.

Note 1(Pitsis) Catsiyannis says her education, sweet character and charitable work made her the most remarkable in the London Greek community. Left gross estate of £314,289. She founded in 1913 the large Ralli Memorial building in Hove (a cultural centre).
Note 2After 1902 she moved from 32 Park Lane to Brighton. Described as one of the greatest benefactors Brighton has ever known. Made huge gifts and endowments to the Royal Sussex County Hospital (e.g. £10,000 for the Ralli Memorial Pathological Institute).
Note 3Presumably the Mrs Stephen Ralli who was the owner of a Rolls-Royce no. 1217. Known to Dominie Vlasto as ‘Cimmie’.
Note 4She appears in a group photograph with her daughter Marietta, her grand-daughter Irene and her great-grandson, Peter Calvocoressi, dated 13 March 1913.
