Note 1(Pitsis) A Mr Ralli, Greek consul in Liverpool, owned the Brynbella estate in Wales (ca. 1858-1900) and Mia Hall, Trelawnyd – presumably Michael Ralli was this man – a member of A&M Ralli (Cotton Brokers) was a consul (see Grove Directory 1888).
Note 2He is presumably the Michael Ralli who successfully defended himself against a case of breach of promise brought by Miss Artie Colebrooke, a Liverpool actress.
Note 3He met her in 1869 when she was 20 or 21 and they lived together for about 5 years. He claimed that an irate old uncle had opposed any marriage to a poor English girl.
Note 4She brought the action against him shortly after he married Polymnia Ralli.
Note 5Before he married, he had an affair with Sarah Riddell producing a daughter, Edith (born abt.1873, later to be adopted by the mother’s husband). Presumably Edith was not considered by him and/or his family to be a suitable marriage proposition...

Note 1Sarah must have met her lover, Michael Ralli, in 1871 or 1972 when he appears to have been working for Ralli Bros in Liverpool. She later married a Walter T. Seymour.
Note 2She had an illegitimate daughter, Edith, with Michael ‘Miké’ Ralli who lived with Sarah’s parents for several years until she was adopted by her step-father. Walter T. Seymour.
