Note 1Embedocles/Empedocles. He rang police and a doctor to report the fact that he had shot his brother three times with cross-bow bolts, the bow having been hidden in a roll-top desk prior to a late-night dispute over valuable Greek coins.
Note 2At Norwich Crown Court he pleaded guilty to manslaughter and was detained indefiinitely in Broadmoor suffering from paranoid schizophrenia.
