Note 1A Marie Adeline Psiachi (according to The Times, Washington, 20 Oct 1899) married the US consul, Rufus Walt Lane, at Bournabat, Smyrna on 18 Oct 1899. Lane had been a member of the Ohio Legislature and a graduate of Earlham College.
Note 2She and Rufus appear to have had a son John Howard Lane. In 2017 her great grand-daughter Monette was living in Richmond, Virginia, USA. Monette’s mother grew up in Bournova, Smyrna.
