Note 1(Katsaros) Presumably the N. P. Petrocochino was was a Demogeront of Chios in 1848, 1860, 1866, 1880. Circumstantial evidence suggests he had an additional daughter Hypatia who herself had daughter born on Chios in 1868.
Note 2A report in the American ‘Abstract of Principal Occurrences’ for 1924, says a Constantine and Pandias Ralli (brothers) with a Nicholas Petrocochino and an Alexander Paspati had escaped to Malta from where these boys travelled to the USA.
Note 3He escaped the massacres on Chios after hiding for 11 days with his mother and brother (perhaps with the Zorzis Galati family) escaping on a boat with Rallis and Galati’s. and later left Malta for an education in the USA?
Note 4He went to Boston, USA, in 1824 with Alexander Paspati and two brothers Constantine and Pandia Ralli (in 2026 we had not identified these two). The passagewas organised by the US missionary the Rev’d Daniel Temple.
Note 5He returned to Malta in 1828 and worked as a translator and editor of Greek books, returning to Chios in 1844 where he retired and died.
