Note 2He appears to have had two children, Gavin Seamus and Suzannah (known as Sally), by his second marriage to Esme Mary Madeleine Playfair (née Fitzgerald) of Ireland.
Note 3He inherited Walton Park, near Dalbeattie, Kirkcudbrightshire, from his uncle in 1931 and sold this afetr WWll when he moved to Southern Rodesia and then South Africa and finally Australia.
Note 4He also had a home as 55 Cumberland Mansions, Bryanston Square, London.
