Note 2After her husband’s death, Tarsie sought help from Count Stroganov, the Russian ambassador, who enabled the surviving members of the family to flee to Odessa. The family moved to settle in Athens around 1832.
Note 3Her Athens tomb reads: ‘Tarsie D. Paparigopoulo. Wife and mother of martyrs of the Revolution. After fighting for her beliefs and her homeland, she died 10 Nov 1862...’ and that she is buried alongside her grandchildren Michael and Zoë Paqparigopoulo.
