Note 1Or Papparrigopoulo. Argenti says he was killed in Constantinople on the orders of the Sultan at the same time as many Scanavis. Sturdza says he was executed in 1821 (though this was almost certainly not on Chios).
Note 2Sturdza says Dimitrios was accused of conivance with the Philiki Hetairia and was hanged outside his house in Baltalimani the same day that the patriarchate Gregory was executed.
Note 3Sturdza also says that Dimitrios’s son Michael, son-in-law Michael Scanavi and his brother Ioannis Paparigopoulos were seized, held for forty days and then beheaded in Baltalimani.
