Note 1A colossal figure in Austrian banking, politics and diplomacy, he amassed one of the largest fortunes in Europe, divided it among his daughters where it was largely squandered by their husbands whom he had personally selected!
Note 2Alessandro Gradenigo says the Venetian artist Felice Schiavoni made two portraits of the four daughters of Simon von Sima, each with a pair of the girls.
