Note 1She married in secret because she was a commoner and the marriage was not officially recognised until 9 Oct 1922. She was not known as Princess Aspasia until the late 1920s.

Note 3There is a lingering suspicion that she might have precipitated, or been involved in, a ‘scandal’ involving perhaps the birth of an illegitimate child in 1919, which may perhaps have been connected with her father’s ‘mysterious’ death in Zurich in 1918.
