Note 1Jewish refugee of WWll. Abstract artist often identified with the Washington ‘Color School’ of painting. Survived WWII in England and then worked at the Nuremberg War Crimes Trials. Went to the USA in 1951.
Note 2See reviews of her work in The Washington Post, The Washington Review and the Washington Star. Five of her paintings were bought by the Embassy of Austria in Washington D.C. and permanently displayed.
Note 3Studied intermittently (1954-56) with Kenneth Noland and Morris Louis at the Workshop Center for the Arts. Exhibited in 1957 at the Franz Bader Gallery ‘New Faces’ show. Her first solo show was at Collectors' Corner in 1958.
