Note 1First Officer on the Greek Royal Yacht 'Amphitriti' sailing every summer to Odessa. As a young captain during the Balkan wars he became a national hero for having sunk six Turkish boats. In 1928 appointed head of the royal Greek fleet.
Note 2As a Greek naval cadet, while in Portsthmouth, England, he went to Cheshire, Manchester, where he eloped with Helen (Gregory) Zlatanov (or Zlatano), daughter of Gregory Zlatano, an industrialist in textiles.’
