Note 1The first Greek to represent Greece in the Winter Olympics. Orphaned young he lived in Klosters/Davos until he was about 17, cared for by Didi Stathatos who then employed him in Athens in 1938 where he met his wife and married young.
Note 2Worked for Stavros Niarchos and on his own account, moving with his wife from London to New York at the request of his father-i n-law Nicholas Coumantaros on the outbreak of WWll. He remained there until 1972 when he re-settled happily in London.
