Note 1Aesthete, collector and art patron who built the Hôtel Rodocanachi at Neuilly-sur-Seine (14 Rue du Centre) which is now a museum and known as the Hôtel Arturo Lopez (Rodocanchi’s same-sex partner).
Note 2Paul Rodocanachi never married, having instead close relationships with Roger Quilter and then with Arturo Lopez (1900-62) to whom he was a guide and mentor. Lopez ‘acquired’ Rodocanachi’s château in 1928 and greatly re-modelled its interior.
Note 3His London probate (nominal/minimal - £1,363 18s 10d) was granted to his nephew Theodore Pandia (Pandia) Rodocanachi (company director).
Note 4A man, born in England, who must have watched the Oscar Wilde saga with great interest... Did they ever meet in London or Paris?
Note 5A drawing signed by Paul Rodocanachi 1885 and a photograph of his nephew and niece (ca. 1893) were mysteriously found ca. 1998 in County Cork, Ireland, hidden behind another picture. The house in Ireland belonged to Daniel Collins and later John Cummins.
