Family Group Sheet
NameDimitrios (Frangoulis) Rodocanachi, 10G Grandfather
Birth1592, Chios, Greece/Hellenes
Death1664
Note 1(Vlachou) Argenti credits him with continuing the Vlachou branch.
Note 2But almost everything concerning him is tainted by the imaginings of the fantasist Demetrios Rodokanakis, (Syros 1840-Syros 1902), who invented grandiose family connections for himself!
Note 3Demetrios Rodokanakis’ fantasies may have inspired the belief that a Van Dyck portrait painted in 1622, is of a ‘Duc Rodocanachi Justinian of Chios’ of which a copy existed in Grabar Art Conservation Centre, Moscow, in 2004.
