Note 1Her father was an archaeologist as well as German consul-general in Athens. Argenti calls her Maxie Lüders.
Note 2According to Christos Zafeiropoulos, her father was Otto Lüders (1844-1912), a Prussian diplomat and tutor to the future King Constantine of Greece.
Note 3Presumably she is the Mrs Negroponte who appears in a drawing in Thalia Flora-Karavia’s book “Impressions from the war 1912-1913”, Athens,1936, the original belonging to III Army Corps of Thessaloniki.
Note 4She was one of five women volunteers (Régine Vlasto (née Lidoriki), Julia Vlasto (née Psycha), Mrs Embiricos and Mrs Valsamaki) who ran the Princess Helen Hospital in Thessaloniki in 1912/13.
