Note 1Presumably the Nicolas Constantine Mavrogordato who was held hostage by the Turks in the Kastro on Chios and then hanged.
Note 2We don’t know if he ever married, nor whether he had children. If he had children no record of them appears to have survived and they probably died, or were killed by the Turks in the 1822 Chios Massacres, or vanished into the slave markets of Asia Minor.
Note 3Presumably the person cited in the Journal de Paris (Sep 1822) as a victim of the Chios massacres.
