Note 1Art collector. Amassed more than 400 landscapes and portraits during her lifetime as well as innumerable ‘objets d’art’. Bequeathed Orleans House and her ‘Ionides Bequest’ collection to the Royal Borough of Richmond on her death in 1962.
Note 2One of the richest women in the world having inherited a fortune from the Shell oil/petroleum company. A keen breeder of Griffon Bruxellois terriers.
