Note 5He was a Commissioner for St. John Ambulance Suffolk from 1979, Director from 1986 to 1990 and Commander from 1984 to 1992. He was made a Knight of Justice of the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem in 1988. OBE in 1993.
