Note 1Argenti does not record him but family tradition reported by David Calvocoressi says that documentary evidence confirms his existence and that he was captured by the Turks at the time of the 1822 Chiso Massacres.
Note 2Family tradition says he became either Vali of Broussa or Selim Pasha and a general in the Ottoman army during the Crimean War. It is said he was poisoned soon after when his family recontacted him and it was feared he would re-convert to Christianity.
