Note 1In 2014 Ana Zivic wrote that “After the October Revolution he escaped to Serbia. He was married to Katarina Jovanovic, granddauther of Lazar Dundjerski. George and Katarina built a castle near place Kikinda, but the castle is unfortunately destroyed”.
Note 2Although the Mavrocordato castle was destroyed, it was modelled on the surviving Bezeredi castle.
Note 3According to Anastazija Jonjic, George Dimitrios Mavrocordato had a daughter (probably not born in Serbia) and a grand-daughter (Anastazija’s mother) who was orphaned in WWll.
