Note 1A Paraskeva Sechiari was a member of the building committee formed in 1874 to oversee construction of the St Sophia’s church in Bayswater. He married the daughter of his business partner.
Note 2Skinner’s ‘The London Banks & Kindred Companies & Firms, London, 1880’ names Parasqueva G. Sechiari, Michael Zarifi and Peter P. Rodocanachi 3 of the 8 directors of The Anglo-Foreign Banking Company, 2 Bishopgate Street, London, est. 1872.
Note 3Catsiyannis appears to deplore the fact that Paraskeva had nine children who all became ‘anglicised’ (by which he presumably means they abandoned the Greek church!).
