Note 1On the death of his father he fled to safety at Nafplion/Nauplion with his mother and two brothers. Stylianos went to Athens where in 1841 he established a printing & publishing firm.
Note 2George Vassiadis believes his hypothetical grandson or nephew, Stylianos Vlasto (b. ca. 1870) was the publisher in 1892 of Eugene Rizo Rangabe's ‘Livre d'Or de la Noblesse Phanariote’, the first serious compendium of modern Greek genealogy.
Note 3His memorial at the First Cemetery, Athens, reads: ‘Stylianos Konstantinou Vlastos/born 1812/in Rethymnon Crete/died 16 October 1854/Titika Styl. Vlastou/1886-1972’.
